How to make Sky Go work with VPN abroad:

1: Make sure Sky Go doesn’t block your VPN

Sky Broadband Shield could be responsible for the interference with your VPN connection. Using a respected VPN service should fix those issues and allow you to enjoy Sky Go whenever and wherever.

For this, PIA is highly recommended. The official name is Private Internet Access and is owned by Kape Technologies. They offer over 180 servers located in the UK in 3 different locations, making it a perfect option. Plus, it provides unlimited bandwidth so you can stay connected at all times while streaming and browsing the internet.

These are the key features that private Internet access offers:

  • no logs policy, which means your privacy is protected
  • Secure protocols and encryption provide adequate protection and peace of mind
  • An easy-to-use VPN client
  • good customer service

The first is the first. The discrepancy between the system time and the VPN time (time allocated to a certain IP address) can cause problems accessing Sky Go on your PC from abroad.

After that, you should be able to access Sky Go, both the app and the browser-based client.

In case you are not sure how to do it in Windows 10, be sure to follow the instructions we provide below:

  1. Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app .
  2. Open time and language .
  3. In the Date and time section, uncheck » Set time automatically » and » Set time zone automatically «.
  4. Select Time Zone and choose the Dublin-London time zone from the drop-down menu.
  5. Now you can re-enable the » Set time automatically » option and you’re done.
  6. Start your VPN and give Sky Go another shot.

Sky go vpn not working

You can give TunnelBear a try (reportedly still works with Sky Go), but due to limitations imposed on a data pack, it will consume 500MB for free pretty quickly. So we assume that you are using a premium subscription-based VPN tool.

Also, with the premium solution, you can request a specific location that Sky Go supports. Just contact your service provider and ask for a valid location that Sky Go can run smoothly.
