How to get software for students?

FREE ANTI-VIRUS. Install Sophos anti-virus on up to three personal devices. Students can upload documents and print from anywhere. WVU Login and Duo Mobile accounts are for STUDENTS ONLY. Parents and guardians should never log into any. Type your Login username and password. Sophos Home’s mobile app and cloud dashboard is easy to use. Add more computers, perform remote scans, receive alerts, and modify security settings remotely, whenever you need to. Virus Protection for WVU Students, Faculty and Staff (Sophos) WVU students, faculty and staff can download Sophos anti-virus software for free.

Matlab student version: MatLab for Students

Oct 15, 2020 All WVU students get Microsoft Office, Sophos anti-virus and Windows 10 for free. MATLAB is also free to students. You can download Microsoft Office on up to five devices and put Sophos on up to three. Students will find discounts on other software at slic.wvu.edu.

Where to find Outlook client software

You need to install Office Suite for WVU computers only; personal computers need a separate license. Local client information at https://wvu.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=6382

Where to find Lync client software

• Lync client must match Outlook client and Office suite (32bit or 64bit)
• Using Lync client from Outlook Web App (OWA) is NOT recommended as of 4/30/2014
• ver 15.04569.1503 is stable, ver 15.0.4605.1000 is unstable
• OWA -> Office 365 Portal site -> Office 365 Settings -> Software -> Lync -> Install

Save cert at 'Go Daddy Root Certificate Authority - G2' then install it

Next attempt to connect to WVU Encrypted, which should prompt for password and poof it works.

Test wifi with cell data service turned off, if work as expected then you are done.
